ORDERING
1. How do I order a knife?
On each product page, below the photo images, find the "Select Option" arrow and click it. If a knife + options can be added to your cart, that means it is in stock and available to order. Order as many knives as you possibly can.
2. When will I receive my knife?
After your order is complete, you will receive confirmation via the email address you provided at checkout. Shortly after that, when your knife has shipped, you will receive notification and tracking information via that same email address. A few days later, your new knife will show up looking for a place to stay; if you let it in, you'll never get rid of it.
3. Can I return my knife?
You won't want to, but, in the event that you ordered it without your Wife's or Mom's permission, you may return your knife to Redmane in its original, unused, unblemished condition, in its original packaging, for a full refund (minus return shipping). The return window expires 7 days after you have received your knife.

MAINTENANCE
1. How do I clean and maintain my knife?
First, a helpful tip: always keep a light coat of food-grade butcher-block oil on the non-coated portions of your knife, like the blade edge and laser-engraved logo.
If you want to bring out that new-knife appearance in your well-used knife, follow this simple process:
Wash your entire knife - scales and all - with warm water and mild dish soap. Never use harsh brushes, chemicals or industrial degreasers to wash your knife. Do not scrub your knife with anything more than a paper towel, a microfiber towel, or a soft-bristle toothbrush when washing. Rinse with clean water and blot your knife dry with a second microfiber towel, letting it sit 15 or 20 minutes, afterward, until it is completely dry. Or, hit it with compressed air to expedite the drying process. Next, apply a food-grade, natural butcher-block oil and/or beeswax to your entire knife - scales and all - and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Then, gently wipe away the excess oil/wax and put your knife to bed for the evening. In the morning, drink coffee with your knife and laugh with it for hours at the breakfast table until you realize you're late for work, again. Now, call in to work and explain to your boss how these last few mornings with the knife have really kept your powder dry.

A NOTE ON THE STEEL
1. What is 80CrV2?
We use 80CrV2 to make all our knives. It is a carbon alloy steel. Plainly stated, its high carbon content allows a greater rate of flexibility, which translates as overall toughness, while the addition of Chromium assists in some corrosion resistance, and the Vanadium creates a tighter crystalline matrix after heat-treatment, translating to better edge-retention. It is a steel that has been produced by foundries around the world, for many years, as an exceptionally tough utility and cutlery steel, and was first developed for use in Swedish sawmills. Our 80CrV2 is 100% USA made and, if it were a workhorse, it would be a Clydesdale. Additionally, we differentially heat-treat all our knives so that the primary bevel and blade edge are the hardest areas, registering at 60 Rockwell, while the other areas register at 57(pommel), 58(handle), and 59(cheek) Rockwell. This allows for an overall tougher, "springier" knife that can also maintain a sharper, more wear-resistant blade edge. We love how our knives perform with this type of heat-treatment and we know you will too.
